Serendipity Point Films Mexican Coproduction “MUSEO” Wins Best Screenplay at Berlin Film Festival
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – February 26, 2018 – Serendipity Point Films announced that its’ Mexican Coproduction, “MUSEO”, won the Award for Best Screenplay at the Berlin Film Festival.
“MUSEO” stars Gael García Bernal, is directed by Alonso Ruizpalacios and written by Manuel Alcalá and Alonso Ruizpalacios.
Robert Lantos is executive producer, along with Anant Singh, Brian Cox and Mark Musselman. Producers are Gerardo Gattica , Alberto Muffelmann and Moises Cosio.
“MUSEO” is loosely based upon true events starring Gael García Bernal and Leonardo Ortizgris as two hapless veterinarian students who get in over their heads in a scheme to steal precious cultural artifacts of incalculable value from Mexico’s National Anthropology Museum. They succeed beyond their wildest dreams, escaping with a haul of treasures. And then the complications begin. “MUSEO” is the first film to be allowed to shoot in Mexico’s emblematic National Anthropology Museum and at the Mayan ruins of Palenque, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
