MUSEO is loosely based upon true events starring Gael García Bernal and Leonardo Ortizgris as two hapless veterinarian students who get in over their heads in a scheme to steal Mexican precious cultural artifacts of an incalculable value from Mexico’s National Anthropology Museum. On a fateful Christmas Eve dinner, they excuse themselves from a family dinner and execute the plan they have been preparing for months. They succeed beyond their wildest dreams, escaping with a haul of treasures of incalculable value.  And then the complications begin.

MUSEO is the first film to be allowed to shoot in Mexico’s emblematic National Anthropology Museum and at the Mayan ruins of Palenque, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
