CANADA’S WHERE THE TRUTH LIES IN OFFICIAL COMPETITION IN CANNES

Where The Truth Lies, written and directed by Atom Egoyan and produced by Robert Lantos has been selected in Official Competition at the Cannes International Film Festival.Where The Truth Lies stars Kevin Bacon, Colin Firth, Alison Lohman and Rachel Blanchard. The screenplay is by Atom Egoyan based on the novel by Rupert Holmes of the same title.

Where The Truth Lies marks the sixth collaboration between writer/director Atom Egoyan and producer Robert Lantos. It is the fifth film directed by Atom Egoyan to be selected in the Official Selection in Cannes, the most for any Canadian director (previous selections were Exotica, The Sweet Hereafter, Felicia’s Journey, Ararat). Two of his earlier films, Speaking Parts and The Adjuster, were presented in the Director’s Fortnight. Where The Truth Lies is the eighth film produced by Robert Lantos selected in Official Selection in Cannes, the most for any Canadian producer (previous selections were Night Magic, Joshua Then And Now, Crash, The Sweet Hereafter, Felicia’s Journey, Stardom, Ararat).

Mr. Egoyan’s most recent film was Ararat and Mr. Lantos most recent film was Being Julia.

Summit Entertainment is handling international sales, a US distributor will be named shortly. In France, the film is being handled by TFM and in Canada, the film will be distributed by THINKFILM.

Where The Truth Lies is a Canada/UK co-production between Serendipity Point Films and First Choice Films.
